First, turn off your device IMMEDIATELY! If you can take the battery out, do so. Attempting to check any of the functions to see if it's still working, will more than likely cause components to short out and may cause permanent damage to the logic board. If your logic board becomes damaged from short circuiting(over-voltage), then your device will be rendered completely useless, any and all data and information will be lost. By the way, you should have your data backed up somewhere already.
Second, completely submerge your device in a bag of uncooked rice and LEAVE IT THERE! Resist the temptation to turn it on and "check" it. The rice will not get all of the water or liquid out, even after a few days of your device being in it.
Thirdly, contact Dan at Gadgetech so that you can get your device to me a soon as possible. If the liquid damage treatment is done within 2-3 days, then there's about an 80% chance of successful recovery to full functionality. After three days the odds drop significantly and it becomes a 50/50 chance of recovery.
Fourth, leave it turned OFF! If you give in and turn it on, it may power up and look like all is well; then, immediately or soon after, the screen will go black and may never turn on again.
Hopefully you will never have to follow this procedure, but water damage and liquid damage happen much more often to these hand held devices, than even the most careful among us would think. The great news is that there is a high success rate procedure available, that is a fraction of the cost of replacing the device.
At Gadgetech we provide the highest quality repair service for all of your gadgets; including all types of cell phones, iPod's, iPad's and gaming systems. If you have a question about the liquid damage repair procedure or have any other gadget repair needs or questions, please call or text today.
